Harare, 20 February, 2012 -Zahara is South Africa's new sweetheart whose music is played almost monotonously on that country's airwaves and she is bringing her fresh sound to Zimbabwe.

Home for many international artists ever since the greenback became the official currency Zimbabwe uses among many others, Zahara joins the track to the honeypot.

Zahara will be performing at the Harare International Conference Centre on March 2 following hard on the heels of another top notch performance by Jamaican star, Mavado.

In line with her velvet voice and serenade sounds the concert is deservedly entitled the "Feel Good Concert" and is being organised by May 7 Entertainment.

Zahara has been booked in many European countries because her distinct voice resonates with the world making her phenomenal.

On the show she will be supported by the able voices of Chiwoniso Maraire, Victor Kunonga, Diana Samkange and Prudence Katomeni Mbofana.

Max Mugaba, an organiser said: "We understand that people do not like the use of backtracks because the sacrifice a lot to pay for these shows. I am happy to announce that when the musician jets in on 1 March she will be with a ten member band."

“Zahara is quite popular in Zimbabwe so we decided to give her fans an opportunity to see her performing live,” he said.

He added that they were also planning of hosting another concert in Bulawayo as Zahara has a bigger fan base there.

Zahara's debut album Loliwe, which came out at the end of last August, sold over 200,000 in the first month alone, an almost unprecedented feat. For a debut album it is unprecedented; the only other South African to do something similar was Brenda Fassie, but Brenda was already a household name.

Music fans seem to be responding not only to the complete lack of pretension in her music and delivery, but also to the fact that her music is, like South African House music, also rooted in place. She sings in isiXhosa and English.
