Harare, February 10, 2012 - A disappointing Zimbabwe were Thursday taught a batting lesson in the last of their three One Day International matches as they lost heavily by 202 runs as New Zealand coasted to a 3-0 whitewash in the three match Series.

Captain Brendon McCullum smashed his fifth ODI century with 119 as the Black Caps scored 373 for eight and Zimbabwe was bowled out for a disappointing reply of 171.

Martin Guptill on 85 runs and Rob Nicol on 61 were on hand to give their captain support  on a day in which New Zealand surpassed their previous total of 372 set in the second ODI.

So bad was Zimbabwe’s batting that the highest scorer captain Brendan Taylor could only manage 65 runs while Tatenda Taibu was on 26 runs and Regis Chakabva on 24 for the highest scorers.

There were less contributions from the likes of Elton Chigumbura with 16 runs and Raymond Price with 14.

Thursday’s win rounds of the three ODIs that have seen New Zealand take the first two matches by 90 and 141 runs respectively.

Prior to that, Zimbabwe had also lost the one off Test by an innings and 301 run out of Zimbabwe.

New Zealand's victory margin of 202 runs is their highest in ODIs against Zimbabwe and their fourth-highest overall. It is also the fifth time they have won by a margin of 200 runs or more.

Zimbabwe’s tour of New Zealand concludes when the two sides meet for two 20Twenty internationals at Eden Park in Auckland on Sunday and Seddon Park in Hamilton on February 14.
