Harare, January 05, 2011 - Grant Flower has retired from international cricket for a second time to concentrate on his role as Zimbabwe's batting coach.

Flower initially ended his career with Zimbabwe back in 2004 but returned to action in the one-day series against South Africa last year.

However, the right-handed batsman has now decided to step aside and allow some of the country's talented youngsters to come through.

"I have drawn the line," he said in a statement posted on the Zimbabwe Cricket website. "There's enough talent coming through and I don't want to hold anyone back.

"I've had a good run and I've enjoyed it, but there is a transition from player to coach, and I think it's time to take it."

Flower played in 67 Tests, scoring six hundreds with a career-best of 201 not out, and 221 one-day matches for Zimbabwe.

The 40-year-old also spent six seasons with English county Essex, where he played alongside his brother, and current England team director, Andy. Sporting Life
