MSU student ventures into gospel music

Upcoming Harare-based gospel musician Daniel Makuvaza known by stage name, King Dan has released two songs that promises to put the artist on the right map in the league of gospel performers.
Makuvaza (25), a third year Midlands State University information systems student, currently on work related learning said the two singles,  “I am a winner and “New creation” were recorded a fortnight ago with Cymplex Music. He said he was inspired by the need to spread the word of God through music.
“My love for Christ has compelled me to serve him through music,”he told RadioVop in an interview.
“There is no better praying and spreading the gospel than through music. I feel l have a part to play in spreading the word of God especially through singing.”
On the two songs the artist experiments with different musical beats, a move that shows his versatility.
The song, New Creation carries with it a strong reggae beat while l am a Winner has a West African rhythm.
“I am a Winner has already been uploaded on social media platform YouTube where it has so far received fair reviews,”he said.
According to Makuvaza, New Creation is a song that touches on the power of repentance and being a “born again Christian.”
“The message in this song is that if you get born again in a Christian way your past is gone and you become a new man in the nature and way of life of the Lord,”he said.
“On the other hand I am a Winner is an inspirational song to believers that no matter the obstacles, you are bound to win if you lead a Christian life.”
The gospel singer said the main thrust of his music was to restore mankind to the original plan of God and also to transform people’s lives.
Born in Zaka and growing up in Bikita in Masvingo province, Makuvaza said with funds permitting his plans are to record a gospel album.
He appealed for promoters to come on board and assist him realise his dream of being a renowned gospel artist.
