Soul Jah Love was a regular performer at Zanu PF events and penned songs for the late former President Robert Mugabe and former first lady Grace Mugabe.

In a rather amusing incident in 2017, at Sakubva Stadium in Mutare, during one of the late former President Mugabe’s rallies, a then Youth League official Innocent Hamandishe publicly shouted at Soul Jah Love.

Hamandishe accused Soul Jah Love for indiscipline after fans stampeded to the stage to watch him perform shortly after former President Mugabe’s address.

In response, Soul Jah Love released a track titled ‘Ndiri Zvinhu’ which was a direct response to Hamandishe’s claims “Soul Jah Love hachisi chinhu.”

In the track the youthful chanter prophesed his love for the ruling party stating he was a party youth member who followed party regulations.

Soul Jah Love joins the league of Oliver Mtukudzi and Simon Chimbetu, artists who were conferred with various levels of hero status.
