15 MDC-T Employees Arrested As Police Raid Party HQ

DOZENS of baton wielding police on Monday stormed Harvest House, the mainstream MDC’s headquarters, looking for suspects who assaulted a Zanu PF supporter on Saturday.

Party deputy national chairperson and Senator Morgen Komichi was said to be among some 15 party activists who were arrested during the raid.

“Harvest House was raided in the morning at around 9am by truckloads of police officers,” MDC-T spokesperson Obert Gutu said Monday afternoon.

“They came back again just before lunch hour then started raiding floor by floor.

“They then picked up 15 party employees and took them to Harare Central police station. They were saying they were looking for people who assaulted a Zanu PF supporter on Saturday night.”

The Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights were late Monday afternoon still battling to secure the release of the group.
