Johannesburg, June 9, 2014 – African National Congress (ANC) Secretary General Gwede Mantashe says deployment of ANC officials is purely based on competency not on political connections as most people assume.
Mantashe says there is nothing wrong with cadre deployment.
“People want to make Cadre deployment a swear word,” Mantashe says.
Speaking on SAFM AM Live shows Mantashe says ANC has to work very hard to regain people’s trust. This comes after ANC voter support has declined in most hotspot municipalities nationally.
He says overwhelming win during elections gives it a mandate to implement its manifesto to better the lives of South African citizens.
Talking about platinum strike, Mantashe says ‘strange behavior in bargaining can spoil the party.’
