Asiagate: Eleven More Cleared

The players include:Sudan based speed merchant Edward Sadomba who plays for Al Hilal, Kingstone Nkata of Kaiser Chiefs in South Africa, Justice Majabvi, Cliff Sekete, Lincoln Zvasiya, Costa Nhamoinesu, Ephraim Mazarura, Mthulisi Maphosa, Chris Samakweri, Hardlife Zvirekwi, and Energy Murambadoro.

They are now eligible to represent the Warriors in their final World Cup qualifier against Angola set for October 14.

The committee that cleared the players is headed by Justice Ahmed Ebrahim. It was set up to investigate the magnitude of the offences allegedly committed and give recommendations.

Zifa Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Mashingaidze confirmed: “The Zifa Ethics Committee has cleared the 11 players from any wrong doing. We have informed the coach who is free to consider them for matches to come.”

Uncorfirmed reports said Sadomba and Nkata had already been called to the national team. Ephraim Mazarura was called into the squad Tuesday.

Twenty four players reported on Monday to train for the Africa Cup of Nations final qualifier against the Black Antelopes.
