Billiat Dominates South African Football Awards

JOHANNESBURG – Newly crowned Absa Premiership Champions Mamelodi Sundowns were the biggest winners at the PSL Awards on Monday night at Emperors Palace, east of Johannesburg.

Midfielder Kama Billiat dominated the podium, picking up three awards.

The Zimbabwean was voted footballer of the season, players’ player of the season and the Absa Premiership’s midfielder of the season.

In all three categories, he edged out his teammates Hlompho Kekana and Keagan Dolly.

Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane scooped the coach of the season award after he guided the Brazilians to their second league title in three years.


The Pretoria side picked up a record 71 points in the process.


The club’s shot-stopper Dennis Onyango took the league’s goalkeeper award.
