Biti Budget Postponed Again

President Robert Mugabe, Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and Deputy Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara decided to postpone the event which had been scheduled for Tuesday afternoon after their usual Monday
meeting.

In a statement to the media, Finance Minister Tendai Biti’s office confirmed the postponement of the 2012 budget presentation which was last week deferred to Thursday this due to President Mugabe’s absence.

Mugabe was away in the Far East attending the graduation of his daughter, Bona, and as well as business trip in China.

“The Principals of the GPA met today, Monday 21 November 2011, at 1500 hours. Due to various commitments on their part, the presentation of the 2012 National Budget is deferred from Tuesday 22 November to
Thursday 24 November 2011, in Parliament at 1415 hours,” read part of Biti’s Ministry’s statement.

“Any inconvenience caused to stakeholders is sincerely regretted,” it added. The commitments of the three principals could not be immediately ascertained.
