Bosso Player In Remand Prison For Assaulting Wife

The player, Lincoln Siwela (26), of X44 Mzilikazi high density suburb, Bulawayo, is charged with physical abuse as defined in Section 3 (1) (a) of the Domestic Violence Act for assaulting his wife.
Siwela is set to spend the next two weeks at Khami remand maximum prison after he was remanded in custody to June 3 when he appeared before Bulawayo Magistrate, Ndumo Masuku on Friday afternoon.
According to the state’s case, Siwela on Monday May 16 arrived at his Mzilikazi home at around 12 midnight dead drunk and asked his wife, Sibongile Maphosa, to cook supper for him.

Prosecutor, Dumisani Moyo, told the court that Siwela’s wife explained to him that she could not wake up and cook supper for him as there was no relish because the soccer player had not left any money before he went drinking.
The state prosecutor said the Highlanders player grabbed his wife and allegedly assaulted her with fists and a knobkerrie all over the body as he was angered by the explanation that she could not cook supper for him because there was no relish.
The wife who sustained serious body injuries reported the matter to the police leading to the player’s arrest.Siwela appeared in court on Friday.He was not formally charged when he appeared before Magistrate Masuku who later remanded him to June 3 for trial.
