The party’s politburo suspended him on Saturday citing his executive’s failure to account for five beasts and money.
“We have decided to suspend him while we carry out investigations,” said politburo member, Sikhanyiso Ndlovu. “There are reports that money donated from the congress last year was stolen. There are cases of meat theft as well.”
Ndlovu who is the politburo’s secretary for education also accused Dakamela of insubordination and lacking respect for the local party leadership.
“The party is one. The politburo and the central committee are part of the party. The chairman must work with the provincial politburo but Cde Dakamela wasn’t,” he said.
Of the six beasts donated the Bulawayo provincial executive allegedly forwarded only 100 kgs of meat to the congress. Some of the donated beasts were allegedly discovered at a farm of one of the provincial executive member in Nyamandlovu.
Dakamela refused to comment referring all questions to Ndlovu.
