The Zanu (PF) Manicaland Special Coordination Committee meeting held in Mutare over the weekend was almost disrupted as tempers flared among members.
The verbal wars were triggered by a question from a member who wanted to know the real position regarding Women’s League provincial chairperson, Happiness Nyakuedzwa.
Acting provincial chairman, Dr Samuel Undenge, told the leadership that Nyakuedzwa’s case has been referred to higher levels of the party.
This did not go down well with the other group and accusations and counter accusations soon followed.
The situation degenerated into chaos when a member of the Youth League was manhandled during the argument.
Dr Undenge had to plead for order to prevail but to no avail.
It took Politburo member, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri to intervene, calling the members to order.
The meeting discussed fundraising activities for the upcoming Zanu PF national people’s conference and the restructuring exercise.
