The popular Harare side, ranked 13th in Africa, are through to the penultimate stage courtesy of goals from Denver Mukamba, Simba Sithole and Roderick Mutuma to cap what looks like a memorable season for Dembare.
This means Dynamos have beaten Caps United in all the matches they have played this year having won both the league matches they faced each other.
Dynamos assistant coach Tonderayi Ndiaraya says they are happy to have overcome the Green Machine adding that they hope the trendy will continue against their traditional Harare rivals.
Dynamos are now in the same position as they were last season, at the top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table, as well as in the final of the Mbada Diamonds Cup in which they finally beat Motor Action 2-1.
Dynamos will now meet Monomotapa who beat FC Platinum 1-0 to sail through to the final. Ironically, Monomotapa did Dynamos a favour by beating Highlanders in a league match to give Dynamos an advantage in the title race.
Although there has been speculation in the manner in which Dynamos won 2-1 over Monomotapa in the league match two weeks ago, cup matches are a winner take all in which Monoz have to prove their mettle.
The winner between Dynamos and Monomotapa will take home $100 000 and a place in the Caf Confederations Cup in which they will also receive $150 000 to cater for their expenses.
Although Dynamos are popular, there is belief that Monomotapa are better in terms of display on the field of play and could wrap up a good season with the Mbada Diamonds Cup and a return to Pan African football.
