Dynamos' Zambia Deal In Limbo

The two players were supposed to have arrived in Harare last Thursday. However, Coach Calisto Pasuwa said the players were now expected to arrive this week.

Sources at the club revealed that the club held an emergency meeting Monday at their offices at the National Sports Stadium where it was revealed that there was no money not only to bring the Zambian players but also to pay signing on fees for the players they have at their disposal.

According to Pasuwa, not even one player has received his signing on fees for the 2012 soccer season, meaning at the moment, De Mbare does not have a single player on their books.

Dynamos are in a serious player crisis with three of their top players captain George Magariro, strikers Cuthbert Malajila and Roderick Mutuma having not yet reported for training since the club regrouped for the 2012 soccer season last Monday while reports are that Takesure Chinyama is also leaving for Egypt.

The four players have been registered with the Confederation of African Football for the Caf Champions League and cannot be replaced should they not return to Dynamos.

The players for the 2012 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League championship are still to be registered as the Premier Soccer League has not yet opened the registration.

Pasuwa said he was worried with the goings on at the club saying this does not show seriousness for a club that is dreaming of winning the Caf Champions League.

However, club executive member, Nyika Chifamba, said the executive was working hard to try to solve the problems adding that everything will be in place before the start of the season.

He admitted that Dynamos has not yet paid the players their signing on fees but added that they were waiting for their sponsors Banc ABC to disburse the funds for them to do so.

Radio VOP was unable to reach Banc ABC marketing manager Desmund Ali for a comment on the issue.

Dynamos are set to play the winner between FC Mafunzo of Zanzibar and Maculmana of Mozambique in the first round of the Caf Champions League. Should they prevail, they will face defending champions Esperance of mTunisia in the second round.
