Harare- September 10, 2015-The body of Lazarus Tembo the former Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) presenter of the once popular television musical show Mvengemvenge is expected to arrive in the capital at 2120hrs from the United Kingdom where he died two weeks ago.
Tembo’s elder brother Million Tembo told Radio VOP that the former Radio 2(now Radio Zimbabwe) DJ and newsreader will be buried at West Park Cemetery in Bulawayo on Monday.
” We are expecting Lazarus’s body this evening from the UK where he died.Tomorrow there shall be a service at 2.00pm at Nyaradzo funeral parlour along Herbert Chitepo avenue.The body shall then be transported to Bulawayo on Saturday morning where it shall lie in state at our Cement Siding family home” said senior Tembo.
Tembo,affectionately known as Lazzie T who also presented the 6.45am Jarzin Man worked alongside other broadcasters at Radio 2 based at ZBC Mbare Studios like Joseph Panganayi Mukaronda, Eric Knight, Ezra Tshisa Sibanda, Tildah Moyo, Brenda Moyo,Lisbern Nasasara,Dins Patrick Mutume and Sam Sibanda among others.
He later left ZBC to work for Gramma Records.
Tembo leaves behind his wife Edna and children Lewis and Nomalanga.
