Grief,Shock Over ZBC Reporter Thulani Miga's Death In Car Crash

ZBC News reporter, Thulani Miga, has died in a car accident.

He was 31.  

Miga who was on his way to Harare from Murewa where he had attended a funeral service, died on the spot this morning when the vehicle he was travelling in veered off the road and hit a tree, trapping two other people who also died in the accident.

The two include the driver of the vehicle, Richard Nsingo and a cousin of Miga’s wife, Abna Museve, who was a nursing sister at Harare Hospital.

The accident occurred on the 42 kilometre peg along the Harare-Nyamapanda road.

Miga’s father, Bheki Miga, said he is shattered by the death of his son.

His mother, Mrs Venencia Miga said it is painful that her son left behind a young family.   

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.  

Miga is survived by his wife, Tendai Liwewe and three children, Ruvarashe (10), Mzwandile (5) and Thandeka (4).

Mourners are gathered at 5658 Kuwadzana 7 in Harare.

Funeral arrangements will be advised in due course.

Meanwhile, the Grassroots Empowerment  Flea-Markets and Vendors Trust, has sent a message of condolence to the Miga family.

In his condolence message, the National Chairman of the association, Alexio Mudzengere said he has learnt with great sorrow and sadness, the untimely death of a young and dynamic journalist.

Mudzengerere said the late Miga professionally articulated the plight of vendors and their long-term contribution to the national economy, saying the association will forever be indebted to him.
