Harare, February 3, 2014-Independent End Time Message founder and pastor Robert Martin Gumbura has been jailed for 50 years on four counts of rape.

He was sentenced to 15 years on two counts of rape and 10 years on the other two.

Ten years were suspended.

Gumbura, was last Friday convicted on four rape counts and faced up to 100 years in jail after the State, led by Jonathan Murombedzi, prayed for a sentence of 25 years and above on each count.

Gumbura was convicted of another count of possession of pornographic material.

Gumbura, who was arrested in October last year, was being charged with nine rape counts after he allegedly raped six female congregates of his church.

He had pleaded not guilty to the charges saying that he had consensual sex with the women.
