Gweru businessman receives honorary degree for philanthropic work

Gweru based property developer River Valley Properties chairman,
Mncedisi Dube has been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate of Humane
Letters by the International Institute of Philanthropy in recognition
of his work to help communities, RadioVop has established.
In explaining the decision to confer the degree, Dr Enrico Sibanda of
the Philanthropy Institute of Zimbabwe said Dube was been honoured for
his humanitarian work by committing his time and resources to the
cause of humanity.
“This award is not academic but an honorary to someone who has managed
to make a difference in society through committing his time and
resources,” said Sibanda.
Dube joins other luminaries like the later music superstar, Oliver
Mtukudzi, United Family International Church Prophetess Ruth
Makandiwa, Avenues Clinic managing director, Merissa Kambarami among
others awarded similar hononary degrees from the institute.
He (Dube) is an award winning businessman who has in the past been
renowned for his leadership skills at River Valley.
Besides providing accommodation to hundreds of thousands of low income
earners, the company (River Valley) has carried a number of corporate
responsibility programmes among them helping the less privileged in
schools, old people’s homes and healthcare among others.
