EMBATTLED Harare mayor Bernard Manyenyeni has been suspended again, hours after he was reinstated by acting Local Government Minister Jonathan Moyo.
The MDC-T official confirmed the development.
“I have been suspended again for not carrying out the corruption audit for City Parking and Harare Sunshine Holdings,” Manyenyeni said.
Mount Pleasant councillor was in March this year suspended by Local Government Minister Saviour Kasukuwere for appointing top banker James Mushore as Harare Town clerk in violation of the Urban Councils Act.
But Manyenyeni unsuccessfully challenged his suspension at the High Court which ruled that the minister indeed acted within his powers to suspend the mayor.
Manyenyeni had a gentle surprise on Monday when Moyo wrote informing him of his reinstatement with effect from May 7.
