Highlanders Maintain Lead

Beavan Chikaka’s 78th minute strike gave Bosso the three points that have seen them move to 19 points, three more than second placed Dynamos.

The popular Bulawayo giants remain the only unbeaten side in the Premiership assembly under the coaching guidance of Zambian Kelvin Kaindu with former Zimbabwe national team player Bekithemba Ndlovu giving assistance.

The two top sides Dynamos and Highlanders clash at Barbourfields Stadium this Sunday in the match dubbed battle of Zimbabwe. The game was postponed from way back due to Dynamos’ involvement in the Caf Champions.

Dynamos on their part kept pressure On Highlanders after goals from Denver Mukamba and Murape Murape gave the reigning champions a 2-1 victory over Chicken Inn.

Before the top two teams’ clash on Sunday, Dynamos will play Motor Action at Motor Action Sports Club Wednesday while Highlanders will travel to Shabanie for a tricky fixture against their bogey side.

Highlanders last won the Premiership in 2006 and since then the title has been changing hands in Harare with Monomotapa winning in 2008, Gunners in 2009, Motor Action in 2010, and Dynamos in 2011.

This year, though, the coveted trophy could be on its way out of Harare as apart from Highlanders, Zvishavane based FC Platinum are also very much in contention.

The team finished second last season after losing out to Dynamos on the last day of play on goal difference.
