MASVINGO-Ousted former Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs, Kudakwashe Bhasikiti has said that he is still a Zanu(PF) member and no one can stop him from attending the party’s meetings since he has not received any formal communication on his expulsion.

The expelled politician who is on the record of unsuccessfully suing Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and being outspoken in his last parliamentary attendance over corrupt leaders further said that he still has support in his constituency and will definitely win back his parliamentary sit as an independent candidate.

“What I know is I am yet to be informed about my expulsion and no one can stop me from attending Zanu(PF) gatherings.

“I was elected on a 99.9% popular vote. I cannot be turned overnight. During central committee election they sent soldiers to intimidate people but I was elected and this time I will trash their candidate come elections. People want to see me as their Parliamentarian until 2018,” said Bhasikiti.

Zanu(PF) provincial chairperson for Masvingo Paradzai Chakona however said Bhasikiti’s utterances are unfounded and added that he is surprised that they will immediately resend him the letter of expulsion he claims he has not received. Chakona added that he would as well attach the letter of expulsion to every news room so that he understands his position as a non Zanu(PF) member from the public arena.

“What Bhasikiti is saying is unfounded and I will make sure that I resend him his expulsion letter that he claims he does not have.

“I will also attach the letter to media houses so that he knows his position as a non Zanu(PF) member from the public arena,” reiterated Chakona.

Meanwhile, Bhasikiti once described by President Mugabe as being in the wrong basket at the height of the ruling party factionalism has since challenged to contest as an independent candidate which will make him the first non Zanu(PF) candidate in Masvingo if he wins. His dismissal also came against the Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) decision that they keep Bhasikiti in fear that if he is fired, it would be at the expense of the party as he has a lot of grassroots support that Zanu(PF) would not dare loosing.
