The fifth wife of the jailed Aba Thembu King, Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo, Nolitha has died after a short illness in her native home in Cofimvaba in the Eastern Cape.
The spokesperson of the royal family, Daludumo Mtirara, says her death comes at a time when they were still trying to reintegrate her into the royal family.
Internal family problems forced the king’s wife to leave a few years ago.
Mtirara says they are still in talks with her family to finalise funeral arrangements.
“We are intending to set up a delegation which will be sent to the family of Queen Nolitha Dalindyebo and discuss this matter in order to ensure that the preparations for the funeral are also started collectively between the two families. At this point in time we cannot confirm as the Royal Family when and where the Queen will be laid to rest,” says Mtirara.
Mtirara says a delegation has been tasked to notify the King about his wife’s death.
“We have identified some of our members who were also tasked to engage and convey the message to the king. We have not received any feedback from the members. We hope the king will accept the will of our mighty,” says Mtirara.
