Journalists Clash with MPs in Press Freedom Tournament

The match will be played at the Show Grounds.
Some parliamentarians who had never been in the football pitch for decades have pledged to spend 90 minutes in this unique match.
“I am happy to be in the football pitch after several years. What provokes me to go in the ground is the idea behind the match, I have seen that it is important to play with journalists challenging each other thereby informally helping each other on the way forward regarding Press freedom,” said Irvine Dzingirai Zanu PF MP for Chivi South Constituency.
MDC-T MP for Masvingo Central Constituency who will be the captain for law makers thanked the organisers for providing such an opportunity saying the platform will help both journalists and MPs to understand each other better.
“This is a wonderful idea that will see both of us walking out of the ground knowing each other better than before,” said Chitando.
Mbizo Constituency MP Settlement Chikwinya who will be travelling all the way from Kwekwe said for him the idea was too good to ignore.
Media Institute for Southern Africa (MISA) chairman in Masvingo Golden Maunganidze said the whole idea is to lobby for media reforms through sport.
“We are going to sweat out our differences and in the process, we shall lobby for media reforms,” said Maunganidze.
