Kelly Khumalo Sends Condolences To Meyiwas Despite Ban

Senzo Meyiwa’s girlfriend Kelly Khumalo has issued a statement about his death. This is the first time she has spoken out since the shooting incident at her home on Sunday evening.

The statement, sent on her behalf by her reps, was issued Wednesday morning.

“Kelly Khumalo and her family would like to express their sincere condolences to the Meyiwa family for the loss of Senzo Meyiwa, who was tragically shot at their family home in Vosloorus, in the presence of Kelly’s family (her mother Ntombi, sister Zandi, and son Christian) Tumelo and Senzo’s friend Mthoko and Longwe Twala. This has been an incredibly traumatic experience for the Khumalo family. As the law takes its course, they request that they be given space and privacy to deal with this tragedy and they thank you for the prayers and support.” 

Meanwhile, Meyiwa’s father has lashed at his son’s girlfriend, saying his relationship with the her led to his death. 

Samuel Meyiwa says the relationship disrupted the marriage between the soccer star and his wife Mandisa.

Meyiwa senior says had his son not been with Khumalo, he would still be alive today.

“She’s not welcome, she mustn’t even come around here because I don’t need her. Its because of her that Senzo was murdered.”
