ANC Youth League spokesman Floyd Shivambu told Sapa on Friday: “The ANC and Zanu-PF are both liberation movements and we are linked bilaterally.”
Shivambu said that Malema would not be meeting with the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) on his trip.
Austin Moyo, chairperson of the MDC in South Africa, had at a media briefing in Johannesburg on Thursday expressed concern that Malema was not meeting MDC in Zimbabwe.
“Does Malema understand that there are millions of liberation heroes in the MDC?” Malema made it clear that he would be visiting Zanu-PF because it was “a revolutionary party” – “as if MDC is not a revolutionary party”, said Moyo.
The MDC also said it was not interested in Malema as an individual but the ANC jacket he was wearing.
