MDC Family Drags Zanu (PF) Midlands Governor To Court Over Murdered Son
According to the MDC Information Department, the Chokuda family accuses Machaya’s son, Farai of killing, their son and MDC activist Moses Chokuda in Gokwe in 2009.
The case came to light when the murder trial of Farai Machaya kicked off last week at Gweru Magistrate court. The case has since been adjourned to 21 June.
The late Chokuda is yet to be buried and his body remains at the Gweru Hospital morgue two years after his death. The Chokuda family has refused to bury their son until the murderers have apologised and explained why they killed Chokuda.
All is happening at a time when Machaya’s family is reported to be battling the haunting spirit of the murdered activist.
The family has since approached the Attorney General (AG)’s office seeking protection from Machaya who are threatening them with unspecified action if they refuse to withdraw the case before the courts.
