Daniel Ndlela, a top economist in the Harare and father to the players said his 25-year old son is expected in the country on Friday morning.
Reports indicate that more than 18 000 passengers have been stranded at Cairo International Airport. Some tourists are reported to be paying policemen bribes to board flights to their different destinations.
‘I have just received information that my son is safe and we expect to arrive tonight (Thursday) or Frida,” Ndlela told Radio VOP.
Mlandeli Ndlela had travelled to Cairo, Egypt for the International Tennis Federation Fixtures which were called off due to political unrest.
There have been mass protests in Egypt in a bid to force out President Hosni Mubarak who has ruled the the country for 30 years but is accused of corruption and plundering the country’s resources.
