MLF Leader Calls For Siwela’s Release

Ncube was speaking before hundreds of Zimbabweans at Hillbrow Theatre. He said Siwela committed no crime and should be released as a matter of urgency.Ncube said MLF will achieve its goals of liberating the oppressed people of Matabeleland who have never tested freedom since the liberation war ended with the election of Robert Mugabe as Prime Minister in 1980.
There were wild cheers from the militant supporters of MLF when Ncube entered the hall clad in a Soviet era military camouflage which was reserved for senior Zipra commanders during the liberation. He however did not mention media reports linking senior officials of the organisation to the spy agency, the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO).
MLF was formed in Bulawayo in January and says its mandate is to free the oppressed peoples of Matabeleland and the Midlands which were part of the Ndebele state during the reign of two Nguni monarchs, Mzilikazi and his son, Lobhengula.
