President Robert Mugabe will on Thursday launch a capacity development programme aimed at teachers and education experts.
The programme, which will be launched in Harare, focuses on upgrading skills and competencies of teachers.
The move is expected to boost the quality of education in the country.
At a press briefing on Wednesday , the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Lazarus Dokora said teacher development is beneficial to pupils as they will be equipped with knowledge that is relevant to the development of the country.
The capacity development programme is expected to influence the content of the nation’s education curriculum and equip teachers with relevant skills to impart knowledge.
Zimbabwe has the highest literacy rate in Africa and this development is expected to solidify that status.
