Murder Trial Of Former Zimbabwe Soccer Star Postponed

According to media reports from South Africa, a Zimbabwean, Knowledge Sikelela Dube, is appearing on a charge of murdering former Kaizer Chiefs and Highlanders defender Dlodlo.

A feared central defender in his prime at Highlanders, Dlodlo, a Zimbabwean international who plied his trade at Highlanders in his homeland, died after allegedly being struck by a brick while trying to separate people who were fighting in a Hillbrow night spot.
Earlier in the hearing prosecutor Lisa Davy revealed that Dube, a resident in Alberton, fraudulently acquired South African citizenship.
He is currently out on R2 000 bail.
It is believed that Dlodlo was restraining the suspect and a group of men who were fighting when the incident occurred.
Prior to playing for Chiefs, Dlodlo also turned out for Ria Stars, Real Rovers and Moroka Swallows before then disappearing off the soccer scene.
