Musona has transformed himself into Zimbabwe’s single protagonist scoring in virtually all the games he has featured for the Warriors including the single goal in Zimbabwe’s 2-1 loss to Burundi in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in February.
Team manager Nyika Chifamba confirmed Musona’s arrival including that of a host of other foreign based players called into camp for the crucial World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Zimbabwe first faces Guinea before travelling to Mozambique a week later. They round off a busy month of June with an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Burundi on June 17.
The Confederation of African Football has changed the format of qualification for the next edition of the Nations Cup leaving Zimbabwe with only one game away to qualification should they beat Burundi in the return leg at the National Sports Stadium.
The Warriors are desperate to make it to the continental football festival come 2013 in South Africa having failed to make it to the past three editions of the football fiesta.
The Warriors have qualified twice in 2004 and in 2006 under the coaching guidance of local coaches Sunday Chidzambwa and Charles Mhlauri and currently have a local coach Rahman Gumbo who wants to follow suit.
Apart from Guinea and Mozambique, Zimbabwe will also play Egypt in their World Cup qualifiers though the first of the two teams’ two matches will be played in March after the Nations Cup finals.
