A night vigil is being held for South African Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema in Polokwane ahead of his corruption trial in the city on Monday.
Malema and two others, Kagiso Dichaba and Lesiba Gwangwa are being tried for alleged corruption, racketeering and money laundering relating to a R52-million tender allegedly fraudulently awarded to On-Point Engineering company by the Limpopo Transport department.
Traffic officers and the police are on high alert as EFF members have started arriving at the hall for the night vigil.
EFF treasurer general, Maggie Moonsamy says the national leadership and the leaders from various provinces will be attending the night vigil in support of their commander in Chief Julius Malema.
Party supporters are also expected to join the night vigil.
Police say some streets around the hall and the Polokwane High Court will be closed.
