Normadic Chunga Quits Gunners

Chunga has left Gunners following contractual disagreements and word is to the effect that former Dynamos coach Lloyd Mutasa has taken over as Gunners coach.

Gunners owner Cuthbert Chitima confirmed that the Razorman has left the club as contractual negotiations have broken down.

Chitima said they are negotiating with another coach but could not reveal the coach’s name though Mutasa is said to have already started work.

Word that Chunga had left his place of employment started spreading after the 1986 Castle Soccer Star of the Year failed to report for duty when the team started training on Monday.

Chunga could not be reached for a comment though sources have revealed that he wants to concentrate more in his role as chairman of the Zimbabwe Soccer Coaches Union, a body that is fighting for the rights of soccer coaches in the country.

Chunga led Gunners to promotion into the Premier Soccer League in 2007 before leaving the club for Shooting Stars. He rejoined the team in 2009 and led them to the league championship before departing for CAPS United.

He then retraced his steps to Gunners in 2011 and rebuilt the struggling team and helped them survive relegation after a poor start to the league title race.

In the Premiership, Chunga has also coached Shabanie Mine and Dynamos.
