Norman Mapeza Quits As Caretaker Coach

Mapeza was recently sidelined with the elevation of former Highlanders Football Club star and coach, Madinda Ndlovu. Ndlovu had been given the assignment to run the show with the aid of Mapeza.

“I wish Madinda and the Warriors well,” said Mapeza in an interview. “I however cannot continue to be used by some individuals who do not have football at heart. I will find something else to do soon.”

Mapeza had been acting caretaker coach while the National team struggled without a substantive boss.

A foreigner, Tom Seintfelt, who had been hired for the top job was ejected from the country because he did not have a working permit. He is expected to replace Ndlovu when he returns.

Mapeza had played for the Warriors and in Turkey before returning to Zimbabwe and has held various top coaching jobs countrywide.

The star said he had already told the troubled ZIFA about his decision to throw in the towel.
