People Should Gear For Change In 2011 : Tsvangirai
Tsvangirai who arrived back in the country on Tuesday from his annual leave told senior members of his party at his Strathaven home that people should be geared for change.
“As we prepare for our historic congress, after two years in government, may I call on the people to ready themselves for far-reaching changes?,” Tsvangirai said.
“Our congress shall reaffirm our determination, our values and principles as a democratic movement. We shall use it as a first step in asserting our signature as a party of the people, a party of the future and the only discernible hope for all Zimbabweans.”
Mugabe’s spokeperson said in a statement reshuffled the acting President John Nkomo with Joice Mujuru. He said Mujuru will be acting President until Mugabe returns although he did not give when Mugabe will return.
Zimbabwe is currently engaged in the constitution making process with a referendum pencilled for September, however the process has been marred by delays which might push the referendum date further.
