Premiership Pacesetters FC Platinum, Caps Drop Points

Harare, September 21, 2016 – PREMIERSHIP log leaders, FC Platinum and CAPS United on Wednesday both conspired to throw away two valuable points each when they drew their mid-week matches during Week 24 of the 2016 Castle Lager premier soccer league race.

Fallen giants, Dynamos finally had something to smile about when they edged visiting Tsholotsho by 2 goals to nil in a match played at Rufaro Stadium.

But CAPS United would be kicking themselves for failing to close the gap on FC Platinum afer drawing nil all with Sunday Chidzambwa’s ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga stadium.

FC platinum failed to take advantage of relegation candidates Border Strikers after registering another goalless draw with the Beitbridge based premiership whipping boys.

After Wednesday’s matches FC Platinum still leads the table with 48 points, followed by Caps United who now have 47.

Third placed Highlanders who still have an outside chance to upstage the front runners will go into their own fixture against Harare City hoping to take advantage of the slip-up by the pacesetters.

Bosso are on 41 points will be hoping to reduce the deficit to 4 points away from FC Platinum.

Inconsistent Bulawayo City lost 1-2 to a resurgent Triangle in a match played at Babourfields stadium in Bulawayo.
