Zanu PF Secretary for War Veterans in the politburo, who is also the Minister of Defence, Sydney Sekeramayi, says the proposed meeting with the war veterans patron President Robert Mugabe will be held on the 7th of next month.

Minister Sekeramayi said this at a meeting to prepare for the event at the ministry of war veterans welfare in Harare this Wednesday morning.

Briefing the gathering Sekeramayi said the preparatory meeting was aimed exchanging ideas on the various issues and coming up with resolutions that will be tabled before the patron.

Sekeramayi said the meeting with the President should strengthen the foundation of the nation and chart the way forward towards building a prosperous Zimbabwe.

Present at the preparatory meeting were Commander Defence Forces General Constantine Chiwenga, ZNA Commander Lieutenant General Philip Valerio Sibanda, Police Commissioner General Augustine Chihuri, Air Force Commander Air Marshal Perence Shiri, State Security Minister Kembo Mohadi, Home Affairs Dr Ignatius Chombo, and the Minister of War Veterans Welfare Retired Colonel Tshinga Dube.

Other notable war veterans leaders who attended included Chris Mutsvangwa, Mandi Chimene and Patrick Nyaruwata.
