The developments have seen Motor Action falling by the wayside after goals from Denver Mukamba and Roderick Mutuma condemned them to defeat against Dynamos their closest rivals.
With two games left before the curtain comes down on the 2011 PSL soccer programme, the Mighty Bulls can now no longer catch up with leaders FC Platinum who are now on 55 points.
Even if they win all their remaining matches, depending on their scoring record and Dynamos lose both their game, Motor Action can only end up on 51 points, the same points that Dynamos have at the moment.
Worse still is the fact that Motor Action has an inferior goal difference against the team they beat to the title last year.
The 2010 champions’ defeat against Dynamos have even seen them slip down the ladder and are now in fourth position having been overtaken by Hwange who on their part beat Kiglon 2-1 at the Colliery.
The Mighty Bulls consolation is that they might get a ticket to represent Zimbabwe in the Caf Confederation Cup as they have qualified for the final of the Mbada Holdings Cup as Dynamos even if they win the tournament are likely to opt for the Caf Champions League as they are likely to either win the league title or finish second.
From the outset Wednesday’s results seem to point to FC Platinum as the potential 2011 Zimbabwe champions. Although they will play Dynamos at home this weekend, even if they lose that match they will still remain pegged at the top of the table and have a seemingly easy last match against struggling Shooting Stars.
Zimbabwe Saints and Kiglon have following Wednesday’s results been relegated from the Castle Lager Prermiership and will play first division football next season.
