Rowdy ZANU-PF youths close markets
According MDC-T’s Mbare youths committee members Nicholas Fombe and Tawanda Chaira who are victims of the evictions, a total of five MDC youths were on Monday evicted from their markets in the Mbare vegetable market after they refused to attend a ZANU-PF meeting .
“ZANU-PF Mbare chairman Emanuel Gapare and his team evicted us from our markets we owned for some years because of our refusal to attend the Chipangano rallies. They are demanding that everyone should be a ZANU-PF member in order to operate from the market. They also ordered us not to visit any place near Mbare Musika.
“We have since approached our party structures to intervene after reporting the case to the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights who gave us a letter to hand over to the Mbare Musika authorities,” he said
He said Chipangano was demanding ZANU-PF membership cards from all youths in the area.
