Though Amaglug-glug lost 2-1 away in Lilongwe in the second leg of their qualifier, they still ran out 5-3 winners on aggregate after having won the first leg 4-1 a fortnight ago.The Shakes Mashaba coached side will now have to scale the hurdle posed by Zimbabwe in the final round of qualifiers to be played in June.
According to CAF, the first leg of that qualifier is scheduled for June 24-26, with the return leg to be played on July 8-10. Zimbabwe made light work of Botswana, running out 6-3 aggregate winners, and indications are that the Young Warriors could even have Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona available for the tie.
The All Africa Games will be staged in Mozambique from September 3-18, with one country qualifying from each of the seven zones that the teams have been thrown in.
Before playing against Zimbabwe in the continental games qualifiers, Amaglug-glug will also have to deal with Benin in a 2012 London Olympic Games qualifier.
