Dodo was one of the 13 candidates who applied for the Zimbabwe job. The little-known Dodo then based in the United Kingdom was one of the candidates vying for the Warriors last year before the job was given to Tom Saintfiet. However, Saintfiet did not last on the job after he was deported for working in the country without a work permit.
The 40-year-old Dodo later landed a job with Eleven Men in Flight in Swaziland in December last year. The side has great liking for Zimbabwean coaches having been coached by the late Zimbabwe legend Stanley ‘Sinyo’ Ndunduma. FC Platinum coach Benjamin Moyo once coached the Swazi side. However, Dodo was recently relieved of his coaching duties at Eleven Men in Flight, following a string of poor results.
Eleven Men in Flight is anchored at the bottom of a 14 team log table and managed to amass a paltry nine points. The club has since played 21 matches winning only two and drew three times. The club lost 16 matches after scoring 19 goals and conceding 51.In an interview, Dodo who is back in the country claimed he was kicked out of Eleven Men in Flight due to xenophobia.
“ Following the protests in Swaziland I was told that they no longer needed a foreign coach, ” Dodo said.
