Harare, July 15, 2016 – MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai has appointed party national executive members Nelson Chamisa and Elias Mudzuri as his second and third deputies as the former Prime Minister tries to keep party momentum which has been slowed down by his recent ailment.
The MDC-T leader, who is battling colon cancer, was addressing his first press briefing since he disappeared from public life few months ago to concentrate on his recovery.
Tsvangirai denied he was giving up on the fight to become President, insisting this was also in keeping with the idea of allowing younger politicians to play a bigger role in the struggle.
He denied the appointment of the two popular MDC-T politicians and former cabinet ministers was an attempt to block his current vice Thokozani Khuphe from succeeding him.
