She followed proceedings in court together with other party supporters. However, Tsvangirai did not accompany his wife as he attended a cabinet meeting in Harare.
The 29 MDC supporters among them, Solomon Madzore, the party’s youth leader, have been languishing in prison since their arrest 15 months ago on charges of murdering police Inspector Petros Mutedza.
Last week, Tichaona Mutedza, the young brother of the deceased police officer absolved the MDC supporters of killing his brother and instead blamed the police for murdering him as he had a long standing dispute with him.
Tichaona told the court that his brother had some missing private parts when they inspected the body before his burial. The police had claimed that Mutedza was stoned to death by the MDC supporters.
Elizabeth married Tsvangirai in Harare on Saturday at a traditional ceremony following the cancellation of their wedding by the court after Locardia Tembo, a former partner of the former labour union leader, sought an interdict to the wedding.
