THE Zimbabwe Warriors lost by a goal to nil to neighbours Zambia in their opening Group D encounter at the ongoing CHAN finals in Rwanda Tuesday afternoon.
Chipolopolo’s Isaac Chansa scored the all important goal in the 57th minute to sink the Kalisto Pasuwa coached outfit that lacked the cutting edge in front of goal.
After the goal, the Christopher Katongo inspired Zambian side enjoyed better possession and kept frustrating the Warriors with offside traps.
The Warriors started well, with Knox Mutizwa, Francesco Zekumbawire and Edmore Chirambadare missing a host of chances before Zambian striker.
The Warriors now have the unenviable task of winning their next two encounters to earn the right to proceed to the second round of the tournament, which is played among footballers plying their trade within their own countries.
