Wene Awards Postponed To Pave Way For ZIMA

The Wene Music Awards ceremony which was scheduled to be held on the 29th of October has been postponed to pave way for the Zimbabwe Music Awards (ZIMA) to be held on the same date.

 Organisers of. the Wene Music Awards told the ZBC News the decision to defer the awards to a later day is to accommodate the ZIMA awards set to be held on the 29th of this month

The awards’ spokesperson Robert Tapfumaneyi said Wene music and ZIMA are both platforms meant to complement each other in the music industry for the benefit of all artists.

In response, ZIMA Public Relations Executive Farai Chapoterera welcomed the gesture and acknowledged that both organisations remain united for the advancement of the Zimbabwean music industry.

 The ZIMA awards had originally been pencilled in for the 4th of October but were moved forward to the 29th.

There had been reports in the local media that the two events will beheld at the same time.
