Chimuriwo who loved technology and gadgets like her husband Fungai Tichawangana was involved in accident along Enterprise Road last night. A car is said to have unexpectedly intercepted her, hitting the driver’s side and fatally wounding her.
One of her friends said: “She was driving from a work dinner around 10 pm and the next thing we are told that she has been taken to Avenues hospital. She passed away around 3 am.
Virginia Setshedi another friend wrote on Chimuriwo’s Facebook wall: “Just spent the two days in Harare with her, a vibrant young lady, always willing to help, very much into technology as she loved gadgets, intelligent with good spirit. She left us at the hotel around 10 in the evening after a staff dinner and met her death on her way home, Shingie Chimuriwo, it is unbelievable, and it feels like a dream.”
Condolences poured on her Facebook page as friends and those who support her husband’s website which recently announce a milestone of reaching 2 million page impressions a month, expressed shock.
Tone Steinsland wrote: “The world has lost a super woman.I simply cannot believe this is true, beautiful Shingie.”
Beaulah Muchira-Nhongo added: “Shings, I am at a loss of words. Famba zvakanaka shamwari yangu. I will miss you – I still can’t believe it.”
Ironically Chimuriwo’s last post on Sunday was ominous: “Buckle up and toughen up my friends. It is gonna be a bumpy final ride to our desired destination.”
A bumpy ride it was.
