Josephine Chimombe approached the Mutare Civil Court seeking a protection order against the businessman, saying he was sending hooligans to harass her.
In her submissions, Chimombe told the court that she once had a love affair with the businessman, but all hell broke loose when the two parted ways. She told the court that she had endured violence from hooligans allegedly sent by Mungwari.
Mungwari’s lawyer, Peter Makombe said there was no link between the hooligans and Mungwari.
The woman also alleged that Mungwari was demanding back all the property he allegedly bought for her during the course of their love affair.
“When I indicated to Mungwari that I was no longer interested in him, he sent some hooligans, some of them his employees, to my place to disturb my peace. On one of their missions to disturb my peace, they came during the middle of the night and took away my household property, including a fridge and blankets,” she said.
She alleged the hooligans fired gun shots in the process but she was not hurt.
