Zim Bus Crash Kills 19

Masvingo Provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Tinaye Matake said the accident occurred at around 8am.

He said both drivers died. Three passengers who died were from travelling in the haulage truck. The rest were in the bus.

“Nineteen people perished on the spot. It is so sad. There were three who were seriously injured and they were taken to Masvingo General Hospital. Others who had minor injuries were treated at Chivi District hospital before being discharged,” said Inspector Matake.

Survivors said the bus driver was speeding and lost control resulting in the accident.

“We were complaining all the way, he was speeding. We were supposed to be in Harare by three, but look at the time when the accident occurred, we were going to be earlier,” said a survivor, Timmy Rangarirai.
