Zwambila, who is said to have arrived in the country on Monday, was recalled by Zimbabwe’s Foreign Affairs Ministry for a debriefing.
She is a nominee from Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s mainstream Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).
The Zimbabwean envoy is said to have stripped in anger to protest a move by her subordinates who she accused of leaking information to The Herald on a website link that was allegedly targeted at Western audiences.
The website had stories on the link claiming that there were no sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe.
President Mugabe’s Zanu (PF) has stalled the Global Political Agreement (GPA) saying they would not enter into any new agreements with the MDC unless sanctions, which were causing Zimbabwe’s collapse, were removed.
Zwambila was among the five appointed as diplomats from both MDC factions after the formation of the new government in February 2009.
